Yin & Sound
Yin & Sound
A journey into stillness, sensation and different sound experiences
Service Description
Yin Yoga is a slow, passive practice using longer-held poses to work into the deeper layers of the physical body, including the fascia and connective tissues, while also stimulating the meridian lines within our subtle energy body. Although Yin is a quiet practice, it can be surprisingly challenging. Staying in stillness and allowing the body to soften can bring us face-to-face with physical sensations, resistance and the busy mind. It can therefore be both a deeply meditative and introspective practice, as well as a challenging one. Yin invites you to step away from the busyness of everyday life, soften the mind, and settle into stillness. Classes often focus on the lower body, including the hips, pelvis, inner thighs and lower spine, supporting flexibility, mobility and deep relaxation. The sound element is unique to each teacher and may include an immersive sound experience, crystal singing bowls, gong bath, other instruments or a carefully selected soundscape, all with the intention of nourishing and soothing the mind and body. A beautiful practice to slow down, release tension, explore stillness and reconnect with yourself. Suitable for all levels.
